VoiceCatcher

women writers • new poems and stories • portland OR

Our Mission

is to publish an eclectic anthology of Portland-area women’s writing reflecting a diversity of voice and genre. Our intent is to provide readers with a selection of the highest quality new writing by Portland women, and to offer a publishing opportunity that respects, nurtures and promotes these local artists.

This anthology tells stories of the flesh, of the heart, of love and everything but love, and of the resiliency of the human spirit. Whether in prose or poetry, fiction or creative non-fiction, our stories and poems tell the bitter and sweet, the truth of who and what we really are.

We are

a collective of women – editors, authors, artists, poets and teachers – that grew out of Portland Women Writers' workshops, led by Emily Trinkaus, M.A. These workshops, based on the Amherst Writers and Artists method, offer a safe and nurturing environment for freeing creative expression.
