SUBMISSION GUIDELINES, 2007
Our guidelines vary depending on the genre. Genre specific guidelines as follows:
Poetry: Please submit no less than 2 and no more than 5 poems for consideration. Longer poems should not exceed 6 pages. Poems should be single-spaced. Short Story, Essay, Creative Non-fiction, Memoir, Other Long-form Prose: Please submit no more than 3 pieces. No one piece should exceed 3,500 words. Prose should be double-spaced. - If submitting in both poetry and prose, please do not submit more than 5 pieces total. - We accept new, unpublished manuscripts written by women. - We specifically do not accept pornography or works that utilize hate speech.
Your submission packet should include the following elements: A cover letter, THREE copies of each piece of writing, and a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE). 1) Your cover letter should include, but is not limited to: - Introduction. - Short synopsis of why you feel drawn to contribute to our publication. - Your contact information, including mailing address, email, and phone. 2) Your manuscript(s): - Should be 12-point font with paragraphs indented and one-inch margins. - Must include the page number, title, word count total, and author’s last name on each page of THREE copies of each manuscript.
DEADLINE: Work must be postmarked by April 4, 2007
Additional info: - We will confirm receipt of your manuscript(s). We will not return manuscripts. - Simultaneous submissions are accepted. - If we do publish your work in VoiceCatcher, you will receive 1 copy of the Anthology and be given the opportunity to purchase additional copies at a discount. - Manuscripts not accepted for publication receive a personalized response from our editors.
