~ Brenda Ueland, writer

The story is what matters.

Now is the perfect time to break out and explore your voice. In these weekly writing sessions, we will enter into the stories and mysteries of our lives in order to connect with our inherent creativity and passion for life. I use interesting and imaginative writing prompts in order to support our inner process as writers and women.

Get fresh perspective and open the door to yourself.

Sessions include opportunities to share your writing without judgment and to receive positive feedback from fellow writers. Our focus is on letting a journey of discovery unfold - getting out of our own way - so that the voice of the soul can be heard.

All experience levels and genres welcome.

"All I am is the trick of words writing themselves."
- Anne Sexton

When we write we know ourselves better. We re-member ourselves. Join us this fall to reconnect with your muse and sculpt time to explore the creative colors of your authentic voice in community with other women. Wherever you are in your writing practice, this morning workshop will provide a safe, inspiring space for you to write without critique or judgment. We will use prompts as springboards into where you most need to go with your own writing.  Participants will also have the opportunity to receive feedback from the group on works-in-progress. Share your voice and receive the gift of hearing other women's stories. Warning - frequent laughter and liberation occur when women write together. All levels of writing experience welcome.

"...And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."
-Carol Woody

You have a sacred story. The sacred story of your life is one of a kind. It's an act of courage and liberation to become conscious of the stories we are telling ourselves about who we are and what we are capable of. Becoming aware of our stories is life changing. In this eight-week workshop, we'll use visualization and writing to identify any limiting stories we are telling ourselves that keep us from moving forward in our life. Once we identify these limiting stories we can upgrade them. We an write new stories. Becoming conscious authors of our stories is one of the most empowering acts we can perform, both for our own healing and wholeness and for the well being of our collective community.

No writing experience necessary.

FREE Writing Worshop for Family Caregivers (past and present)
with Dawn
Sponsored by Clackamas County Social Services
8 Thursday mornings, September 30 - November 18
10:00am-12:00pm
Clackamas County Social Service Buildings, Oregon City

You have stories inside. In this workshop you will have the opportunity to tell your stories, both those from your life and those from your imagination. As caregivers, past and present, it is particularly important that we tell our stories and that we find ways to remain connected to our voice and to our own deep well of inspiration, creativity and joy. Expressing ourselves through writing nourishes us and brings us relief. It is transformational. It is healing. And it is fun! As caregivers, we also long for community. Coming together in community to listen to each other's stories in a safe and respectful environment supports us, both as writers and as human beings. It changes our lives.

Whether you are a seasoned or a beginning writer, this workshop is an opportunity to scultp time each week to rejuvinate, to create and to connect.

Writing our Stories of Loss & Grief with Dawn
6 Wednesday Evenings, November 3 - December 15, skipping November 24
7:00pm-9:00pm, Garden Sanctuary, Multnomah Village, $140.00

They can be like a sun, words. They can do for the heart what light can for a field.
-St. John of the Cross

Each of us carries within us profound stories of loss. These stories are part of the contours of our heart. They are the very substance of our bones. These stories are gifts that deepen our capacity to experience the full range of what it means to be fully human. Our stories of loss and grief come in many forms. The death of someone we love. The ending of a relationship. Illness. Leaving home. The aging of a parent. The loss of freedom when a child is born. The unexpected letting go of an old way of being. These stories called to be honored. They call to be shared. By giving them voice we release them from the realms of our unconscious and invite them to help us move forward on our own path of healing. In this workshop we'll create safe space to explore our stories of loss and grief, both as profound material for our writing and as a rich well for our personal healing.

No writing experience necessary.
