"The act of writing is a tremendous adventure into the unknown, always fraught with danger. But the deeper you go and the longer you work at your art, the greater will be your treasure." - Pat Schneider

Inner Fire: Autumn Equinox
A writing and spirit workshop with Rhea
Sunday September 18, 1:00-5:00 pm
Multnomah Village Garden Sanctuary, $50

Time to turn inward on the wheel of the year. The Autumn Equinox ushers in a season not only of introspection and reflection, but also of recognizing our interconnections and communities. In this afternoon workshop, we will use guided meditations, powerful myth and personal writing to connect to the energy of harvest and to recognize the gifts of the ancestors.

At this point of balance between dark and light, we are called to release, let go and purify our lives for the coming of the winter. Return to your center and listen to the wisdom of the ancestors calling to you. This work grows from earth-based spiritual traditions, but is open to anyone with the desire to learn more about themselves and their personal power. Inner Fire workshops help you call in the unique stories of your life and take part in the transformation happening all over the planet.

No previous experience necessary.
All women are welcome.

Revision doesn't have to be painful
Revision is Fun: a Revising & Editing Workshop with Traci
Saturday, October 15, 1:00-4:00 pm
Location: SE Portland, $25

The old adage is that learning how to write is really learning how to rewrite. During this three-hour workshop, we'll focus on revising and editing your first (or second, or third) draft. We'll look at both the macro level and micro level as well as the "nuts & bolts" of punctuation and grammar.

Whether you love to edit or the thought of it makes a trip to the dentist seem fun, you'll leave this workshop with a stronger manuscript as well as the skills and information to edit other pieces of writing.

Bring up to 10 pages of your short story, novel or memoir or 3 poems for this interactive workshop.

Contact Traci to register or for more information: traci@pdxwomenwriters.com or 503-317-5148

Sacred Story: Writing Your Authentic Life
with Dawn

Saturday, October 29, 10:00am - 2:30pm
Location: Garden Sanctuary, Multnomah Village, $75

"The good news is that we can change our Stories; they're not carved in stone. The world is made particle by particle, story by story. When I learned the distinction, my life was forever altered..."

-Victoria Castle, "The Trance of Scarcity"

Human beings are by their very nature story tellers. We tell stories to make sense of the world. We tell stories about ourselves. Becoming aware of our stories gives us the power to step into the role of author of our own life. In this workshop we'll use visualization and writing to identify any limiting stories that keep us from moving forward and from realizing our full potential. Once we identify these limiting stories we can upgrade them! We can write new stories that support our authenticity. Becoming conscious authors of our stories is one of the most empowering acts we can perform, both for our own healing and wholeness and for the well-being of our collective community.

 No writing experience necessary.
