Fiction in a Flash with Traci 4 Thursday evenings, March 8 - March 29 6:45pm-9:00pm, $100 Location: TBA
Curious about Flash Fiction? Wondering how you can possibly tell a complete story in as little as 1000 or 500 words (or less)? Or maybe you're a prolific writer of short, short stories and want a place to practice your craft. This workshop will appeal to anyone who enjoys the economy of words--but never meaning--that is Flash Fiction.
In this workshop you'll generate new work as well as have the opportunity to receive and give (gentle) feedback on works in progress.
This workshop is in need of a host. If you're interested in providing the space for this workshop in return for the workshop fee, please email (or call) Traci.
Flash [flash]: to burst suddenly into view or perception
Fiction [fik-shuhn]: something feigned, invented, or imagined; a made-up story
"These stories are not tricks, or trills on a flute; rather they are very short stage presentations or musical pieces that play to the full range of human sensibilities--some evoke mood while others provoke the intellect, some introduce us to people we're interested to meet, while others tell us of unusual but understandable phenomena in this world, and some of them do several or all of these things, the things good fiction of any length does." (James Thomas, editor of Flash Fiction)
